Wheel Painting

Make your car’s wheels stand out from the crowd with our wheel painting service. Rims are such a prominent aesthetic part of the car that changing their color uplifts the look of it. We have an in house paint booth dedicated to making sure that all paintwork and peelable paint is done in a dust free environment. Our paint booth is stocked with the highest quality materials on the market to make sure your car gets the finishing it deserves. At Project Cars we can do 3 types of wheel paint work (peelable paint, standard 3 layer paint and powder coating).

Peelable painting

We use the highest quality of paint dip from DipYourCar. Peelable automotive coatings are designed to be sprayed over good condition OEM surfaces. Using these products over surfaces other than good condition OEM will always bring more variables into the equation. Best practice will always be to test a small area before going full scale. And YES it  really does peel off. Our dip process is done by 6+ wet coats, not only for durability, but to make sure it peels off in large pieces when you are ready for removal.  The thickness and density of the film builds as each proper coat is applied; so we make sure the correct number of coats and that those coats are appleid properly is critical to the peeling and removal experience.

Standard Wheel Painting

When it comes to standard paint work we put a lot of effort to have a perfect finish. Our paint work is done in several stages:

    • Washing and wet sanding the surface to have a good bond
    • Applying primer to protect the wheels
    • Spraying the desired color
    • Then we close the work with highest quality clear coat
    • Finally we carefully polish the newly painted wheels for better shine

Powder coating

Powder coating is the best method of changing the color of wheels, but it’s also the one to consume the most time and efforts. Below are the pros and cons of powder coating:

    • What is powder coating – Powder coating changes the color of your vehicle’s wheels, trim, panels, and more. It also adds additional protection. The process takes time and begins by taking electronically charging ground particles made of pigments and resin and spraying them onto your rims. Thanks to their electrostatic nature, the particles adhere to the surface then the powder coating will need to be baked so the particles can blend and cure. Once the piece is baked, you’re left with a durable and eye-popping result.
    • Benefits of the powder coated wheels – besides a unique color, powder-coated wheels are versatile in protection. As a staple in the industry, powder coating has proven to be one of the most popular paint applications. What powder coating does well is extending the life of the metal you’ve coated. When the coating is cured it develops into a much more durable and hard finish. This extra layer of protection can help against corrosion, heat, wear-and-tear, weather, and everyday scratches. Although it looks like a common 2-coat paint application, powder coating is more than meets the eye. It’s resistant against chemicals, spills, and even brake fluid that rips through painted surfaces.
